Holden Ute Custom

Australians love their Utes and Holdens are at the cultural centre. Their popularity is so great that it saw the creation of the "V8 Ute Racing Series", and the aptly named "V8 Brute Utes". The aggressive driving style of competitors, a style encouraged by the use of reverse grid racing, the series was hugely popular.
It indeed offered much inspiration to this customised Ute, with its tray top hard tonneau and unique racing rear wing. The two-toned paint job, black pin-striping, custom interior, combined with aggressive road stance make this Ute unique. The history behind this Custom Ute began in 2002 when the Australian car manufacturer Holden produced the VY Commodore. Its range included luxury variants as well as commercial models, namely the Ute. The VU Ute range was face-lifted in 2002 to create the VY range.
The addition of "Crewman" and the return of the "One Tonner" added instant sales to the Holden range, sparking rapid expansion of the Holden Ute range, its first major growth spurt since its 1990 re-introduction. So, the classic Australian Ute is almost certainly the "Holden Ute" and it seems there's one parked down every Aussie street.
